What does Europe’s tech talent look like now? And how has Covid-19 affected the region’s tech hubs? Founders and companies have emerged resilient but their mental wellbeing has been tested to the extreme. Demand for talent has bounced back from the lows of spring. Issues of motivation and mental wellbeing have shot up in founders’ list of concerns, but 50% believe the ecosystem has remained resilient.

More tech hubs

European tech is rapidly becoming more geographically diverse, as 24 new cities have seen a homegrown VC-backed company scale to billion-dollar valuations in the last five years.

Remote work

The pandemic has seen a far more favourable shift in sentiment around remote work. 76% of founders responded that they are supportive of remote work for the long-term future, an uplift from 54% before the pandemic.
